Mura Pro's Cloud Filter

Tube of Choice: The lovely tube image I am using is a Gorjuss image created by Suzanne Woolcott.

Spooky Wood Template created by me using a clipart image available at Microsoft Clipart Media. The animated bat and ghost are also from Microsoft Clipart Media. The non-animated bat image was shared. You can download the supplies here.

Font Used: FTU Font called Cocktail

Should you wish to change or add elements, please do. I try to use elements that I have created or those that are free for anyone's use rather than scrap kit elements because you never know when one day, low and behold, the kit is no longer offered. Please remember, these are teaching tuts and are guides for you - by no means do you have to follow any tutorial to the letter.

Some of the steps in this tutorial are very similar to the Dark Night Tutorial. If you have done that tutorial already, you are familiarized with the Mura Pro Cloud Filter.

SETTINGS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL

Magic Wand:
Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance 6, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected.

Step 1
Open up the spooky woods template and the tube image you will be using. At the Material Palette, left click the top color box and when the Color Selection Window opens up, change the color to dark blue, #09247d. Left click the bottom color box and change the color to medium blue #5156ff (this is the same blue as in the template).

Step 2
Now what we will want to do is select all the blue areas of the template and replace with the Mura Pro Cloud filter. To do this, left click the magic wand on only one blue area of the tag. Yes, just one area. Go to Selections/Modify/Select Similar and use these settings:

Tolerance 129 and click on discontiguous.

DO NOT DESELECT. Go to Layers/Duplicate. Do this five more times so you now have a total of 6 layers.

Step 3
Open up the layer palette and go to the bottom layer. Go to Effects/Plugins/Mura Meister's Clouds. You will see a variation of cloud pattern with the two blue colors used at the material palette. Move the amount setting only to 88. Do not change anything else. DO NOT DESELECT.

Step 4
Go to Layer 2. Reapply the Cloud Filter but change the amount to 100. DO NOT DESELECT.

Step 5
Continue going to the layers and apply the following amounts of the cloud filter:
Layer 3: 105 DO NOT DESELECT
Layer 4: 114 DO NOT DESELECT
Layer 5: 129 DO NOT DESELECT
Layer 6: 162 Go to Selections/Select None.

Step 6 (optional) If you want to add a glow around the moon, do the following:

Left click the magic wand inside the moon on layer 1 and go to Effects/Plugins/EyeCandy 4000/Gradient Glow. At the basic tab, change the glow width amount to 19.59. At the color tab, select white and medium. DO NOT DESELECT. Go to each layer and apply this filter. When you get to the top layer and have applied the filter, go to Selections/Select None.

Step 7
Go to Layer/New Raster Layer and on this Layer you will be applying the non-animated bat and the ghost. Copy and paste them as NEW SELECTIONS. Also copy and paste your tube image as a NEW SELECTION and resize as necessary going to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. On this same layer add your copyright and licensing information and do leave room to add the animated bat and your signature later.

Step 8
Duplicate the layer with your images and copyright information 5 times so you have a total of 6 layers which is the same number of layers as you have for the tag with the mura pro effect.
What we will do now is merge all 12 layers into 6 layers.

Merging the Layers

Step 1
Open up the Layer Palette.
Leave the bottom layer (mura pro effect layer) open. Close off all the other mura pro effect layers (5 of them) by left clicking the eye on each layer. You will see a red X which means the layer is closed.

Leave the bottom layer of the images with copyright open and close off the 5 layers above it.

Go to the bottom layer (the mura pro effects layer) and go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Left click the eye on this merged layer to close it off.

Step 2
Open up the layer above the merged layer (Layer 2) by left clicking the red X. This is the mura pro effect layer. Open up the image and copyright layer that is above the last of the mura pro effect layers. Go to the open mura pro effect layer and go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and close this merged layer off.

Step 3
Open up the layer above the 2nd merged layer (Layer 3). This is the mura pro effect layer. Open up the image and copyright layer that is above the last of the mura pro effect layers. Go to the open mura pro effect layer and go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and close this merged layer off.

Step 4
Open up the layer above the 3rd merged layer (Layer 4). This is the mura pro effect layer. Open up the image and copyright layer that is above the last of the mura pro effect layers. Go to the open mura pro effect layer and go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and close this merged layer off.

Step 5
Open up the layer above the 4th merged layer (Layer 5). This is the mura pro effect layer. Open up the image and copyright layer that is above the last of the mura pro effect layers. Go to the open mura pro effect layer and go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible and close this merged layer off.

Step 6
Open up the two remaining layers and go to the open mura pro effect layer. Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible. Open up the 5 closed merge layers so tht all the layers are now open. Save this file as a psp or psd file.
