At the layer palette, open up all the layers so that there are no red X's and save this file as a psp file.

Step 16
Once your file is saved, go to Layers/New Raster Layer and copy and paste the tube image you will be using on your tag. We will go ahead and save this now without text added so you can use this as a template to make multiple tags.

Step 4
Before we continue to save the animation, click the Customize button to make sure you have all the correct settings for this animation. You should see two tabs: Colors and Optimizations.

Here is what each setting should be under the two separate tabs:

Colors
255 Colors, Optimized Median Cut and Error Diffusion should be checked.

Optimizations
The middle three selections should be checked.
The top and bottom selections - unchecked.

After customizing these animation settings, click Ok and click Next and you will get the following screens:
Screen 1 Animation versus output Size - just click next.
Screen 2 Optimization process - just click next.
Screen 3 Optimization preview - just click next.
Screen 4Optimization results - click finish.

Make sure to save your image as a gif file. You now have a template file with NO text. This template you can use over and over to make tags for yourself, friends and group members.

Adding Text

Step 1
Open up Paint Shop Pro and open up the original psp file you saved before animating. Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and apply the text you want for your tag, adding a drop shadow and any other effect you like to your text.

Step 2
Go to Edit/Copy. Open up Animation Shop and go to Edit/Paste as New Animation. You are only copying over the text.

Step 3
Make your text file active and go to Edit/Copy. Now go to Edit/Propagate Paste.
Have your original tag file open and click the control and A keys to activate all the frames.
Go to Edit/Paste into current frame. Holding down you left mouse button, bring the text to the very first frame, position the text exactly where you want it and release the left mouse button. Your text will now be in every frame. Resave your tag with a new name.

Step 4 - Important - Regarding Propagate Text Function
If you continue to add more names to your tag, just make the text active and go to Edit/Copy, make the tag image active and go to Edit/Paste into selected frames (do not go to propagate paste if you had already activated this function previously). The propagate paste should only be activated one time for it to continue to work. And as long as you have animation shop open, and are continuing to add names to your tag, this function will remain working

Enjoy the Every Day Moments

This tutorial will be utilizing the following PSP Components:
Magic Wand
Copy and Paste
Colorizing
Resizing
Drop Shadow
Layers

Needed:
Tube of Choice - For this tutorial, I used a delightful image created by Suzanne Woolcott.

Supplies: Every Day Moment template, created by me, can be downloaded here. The scrap kit used was created by Fee. Thank you Fee for allowing me to distribute your kit with this tutorial. You can download the scrap kit, Razzmatazz, here.

For this tutorial, you can do the basics of the tag with any scrap kit.

Optional: Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow Filter - for text only.

Magic Wand Setting Used: Mode: Add/Shift, Match Mode: RGB Value, Tolerance 0, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-Alias checked and outside selected

Drop Shadow Setting Used: Vertical Offset 2, Horizontal Offset 2, Opacity 80, Blur 5, Color Black

Step 1
Open up the template, the Scrap Kit you will be using and the tube of choice.
Make the template active. Open up the layer palette and you will see there are three layers. The bottom layer is semi ellipse 1, the bottom half of the ellipse shape. The middle layer is semi ellipse2, the top half of the ellipse shape. The top layer is your circular text for the tag.

Step2
Close off the top two layers (left click the eye on each layer and you will have a Red X). Make the bottom layer active. Go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and Colorize the bottom portion of the ellipse to a color that will work will your scrap kit elements and your tube image.

Step 3
Left click the magic wand and use the settings from above. Left click the magic wand inside the bottom half of the ellipse. Go to Selections/Modify Expand 3.

Step 4
Open up one of your scrap papers and go to Edit/Copy. Make the template active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.

Go to Selections/Invert. Click the Delete Key and Go to Selections/Select None.

Go to Layers/Arrange/Move Down.

Step 5
Left click the Red X on the semi ellipse 2 layer to open it up and make sure you are now on the semi ellipse 2 layer.

Go to Adjust/Hue and Saturation/Colorize and Colorize the top portion of the ellipse to the same color that you used for the bottom portion.

Left click the magic wand inside the top half of the ellipse. Go to Selections/Modify/Expand 3.

Step 6
Open up another of your scrap papers and go to Edit/Copy. Make the template active and go to Edit/Paste as New Layer.

Go to Selections/Invert. Click the Delete Key and Go to Selections/Select None.

Go to Layers/Arrange/Move Down.

Step 7
Select an element that will work as a divider between the top and bottom half of the ellipse. Copy and paste it over the dividing line as a new layer. If the divider piece is too long, use the raster deform tool to shorten the length or go to Image/Resize, using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. The raster deform works better because it leaves the thickness but shortens the length. It is a great tool to master.

Step 8
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and apply the drop shadow setting from above to your divider.

Step 9
Open up your tube image and copy and paste it to your tag. If the image is too large, go to Image/Resize using the percent option, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked.

Step 10
Open up the circular text layer by left clicking the Red X on the eye and colorize the text to match your tag. Apply the same drop shadow to the text.
Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 11
Decorate the tag, applying as many colorful elements as you like and resizing the elements, as necessary. Do leave room on the tag to add your text. Once all elements are applied, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 12
Go to Image/Resize using the Percent Option at 90%, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked.

Step 13
Select one of the doodles - there are five color choices. If none match your tag, then colorize the doodle to match.

Step 14
Copy and paste one of these doodles on your tag as a new layer. Go to Image/Flip. Go to Image/Resize using the percent option at 140%, bicubic and resize all layers NOT checked. Move the doodle to the top left portion of your tag and go to Layers/Arrange move down.

Step 15
Go to Layers/Duplicate and move the doodle below the first doodle you applied. Once happy with the placement, go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.

Step 16
Add copyright and licensing information to tag.

Save your tag as a png template so you can use it again for other tags.

Step 17
For the text, select a medium to thick font. At the material palette, the top color box should be black (for the stroke). Open up one of your colorful papers so it is on the PSP desktop. Left click the bottom color box at the Material Palette (the fill). Click the pattern tab and locate the pattern that is on the desktop with the angle set to 0 and the scale set to about 117.

Left click the font tool and select your font with the stroke set to 2. Type in your text on a new layer. If using vector text, convert the layer with your text to a raster layer

Step 18
Go to Effects/Plugins/Eyecandy 4000/Gradient Glow

Under Basic Tab - change the Glow Width to 3.00

Under the Color Tab - select Fat.

Step 19
Apply the drop shadow setting.

Resave your tag with another name so that your template is intact.
